Not much to report, believe it or not. We arrived at Ebenezer Park campground in Rock Hill, SC just before dinner time yesterday and spent the evening getting situated. It’s a small campground, partially wooded on large Lake Wylie which spans the SC/NC border. Just big enough to take Tessa for walks. The spaces are a little smaller and closer together than we like, but we’re just here for 4 nights. There’s quite a few campers here despite the chilly weather!
Today, we finally got our television working (it’s been an ongoing issue) and went to a few stores for supplies. You know Bob, he continues to tinker with the motorhome. We drove up to Gastonia, NC to eat at Ole Carolina BBQ. It was good Barbeque, but Central BBQ in Memphis is still our favorite.
We decided to visit this area because one of the many retirement articles we read included Rock Hill as a great place to retire. We are amazed at the amount of new housing developments here! I would estimate that there are THOUSANDS of new homes in various stages of construction. They are beautiful, but with prices starting in the low $300,000’s, we wonder who is moving here! There are also new shopping centers all over the place. The worst thing, in our opinion, is the traffic. Holy, moly, the traffic on local roads was horrible this evening! This area is not for us. Moving on in a couple of days!
Oh, here is one thing that IS for us …
This was not a one-off gas station, we saw several $1.99 stations and even a few at $1.94! I’m kicking myself that I filled up the car before leaving home!
